Dylans Surgery.

June 22, we had an appointment to see the neurologist. He showed us the MRI and told us it was a big pocket of fluid, and he thinks what happened is there was a bleed on his brain and so to protect itself it scared up and blocked the place where it was supposed to be draining, so the fluid had no where to go. He said if you even put 1/4 inside an adult brain it would instantly kill them, but thankfully it grow slow enough that his brain was able to compensate. I wish I had the pictures to post on here of the MRI, it was crazy looking at how it pushed the left side of the brain over. The surgeon wanted us to go see the opthamologist, because that was the part of the brain with the most pressure. So June 29 we got in to see the eye doc. and he found nothing wrong, yay! So we made an appointment to have his surgery done the next day, June 30.
So we get to the hospital at 7:30 am. and they prep him for surgery, they let us walk a little ways to the room with him and then we had to hand him off, :( I lost it as we were walking down to the waiting room. Just the thought of my baby getting put under with all these strangers around him and mommy is no where to be found just broke my heart, I know he most likely doesn't remember, but it's still hard. The surgery lasted about 3 hours. Everything went exactly as the surgeon planned, everything went perfect, it was such a relief. When they let me go into the recovery room with him I almost didn't recognize him he was so puffy. They then took us up to the 3rd floor to his room. He woke up pretty quickly and he instantly wanted to nurse, and within a few short hours he was pretty much back to normal. They let us go home in the afternoon the next day. Usually they keep kids that had this surgery 2 days, but he was doing so well they let him go. Thank goodness, cause we were all getting antsy being there.
I am sooo grateful to the surgeon and the nurses who took care of my baby. I know this surgery doesn't sound as serious as others, but it's one of the most complicated brain surgeries there are, and to have it go so well and so perfectly was such a blessing. We are also grateful to our family and friends who prayed and fasted for our little Dylan, it meant so much to us, thankyou so much!
My puffy baby :(
Starting to get back to normal, he loves the camera :)

This was his favorite thing to do while being in the hospital, we took lots of rides up and down the hallway.

He had to get another CT scan before he went home to make sure everything was ok, it was :)

We are so grateful that everything turned out good. We were so worried about him when we found out, but he's such a tough kid. We are glad he pulled through like it was nothing for him. We love you guys!
